Everything you never wanted to know about Fü
Doggz:
And because it is my nature, my answers will be both serious and
sarcastic. You decide.
PERSONAL STATS:
~~Full name: Jeff Hamm
~~Nickname? I don’t know that it’s a nickname,
but a lot of people just call me Hamm (for obvious reasons), like
Sting or Flea, or more like Kramer or Newman. Also Fü
Doggz - the online name I use most often. Comes from my sick
fascination with the little Chinese guardian dog statues. They are so
ugly, they’re cool.
~~Number of candles that appeared on your last birthday cake? 8,
I think that was the last time I had a birthday cake.
~~Date that you regularly blow them out? (in other words, when's your
birthday?) April 2nd, 1971
~~Hair color? Some are brown, some are blonde, and some
are red. And that's just my chin, folks! Been shaving my head for a
couple of years now, since the first little sign of MPB. I just had no
desire to look pathetic. lol. But when I let ‘em come out to play,
they’re brown.
~~Eye color? Hazel
~~Living arrangements? Wife of 9 years - Vicki, 12 yr.
old step-son James, & 15 month old daughter Zoë
~~Siblings and their ages? Sister - 43, brother - 36.
~~Pets? Elvis, a Dalmatian/Cocker Spaniel mix and
Missy, a Benji
~~Tattoos? Piercings? I have one self-designed (self-designed,
not done) tattoo I've had for 10 years on my right tricep of my
initials, JH, in red. Sort of tribal style. It was designed so the
upright line of the J formed into the back of a small h. It was
designed to look the same upside-down or right-side up. Due to the
constant confusion and explanations and boredom, I am having it done
over with....guess what...a fu dog. I’m also about to get my
daughter’s name, Zoë, on my left tricep. I'm still shopping for the
right design (and artist). Oh yeah, my left ear is pierced twice and
my right ear is pierced once. Oh... and I'm covered with various
scars, all induced unintentionally by hard living! lol.
~~Where do you live? In a galaxy far, far away. In Texas,
y’all! (Sorry, exact location withheld for privacy reasons.)
MUSIC:
~~What is your most embarrassing CD on the shelf? The most
embarrassing CDs in my house don't belong to me.
~~What is your favorite CD of all time? Too many to list them
all. All Beatles, especially from Help to Abbey Road, Jellyfish -
Spilt Milk, Enuff Z’Nuff - Strength, Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges
Ruth, Wilco - Summerteeth, David Mead - The Luxury of Time, Red Hot
Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic, on and on....
~~What CD’s are in your stereo right now? Elvis Costello -
When I Was Cruel, Rooney’s debut, Fountains of Wayne - Welcome
Interstate Managers.
~~Are you in a band? Do you play any musical instruments? Yes.
I am a member of the rock group, The Pozers. I am a
singer/songwriter and I also play guitar, bass, & keyboards and
pretty much any other instrument that I can make work. I started out
on the piano at age 8, but didn’t like the structure of lessons. I
took up guitar around 15. Self-taught with a bit of classical
training. I’ve pretty much been writing and playing in bands ever
since. The Pozers are currently in the studio working on our third
full-length CD on 6th Floor Records, as yet untitled. I would describe
our music as ‘power pop/rock with an edge.’ Check The Pozers out
here: http://www.6thfloor.com/thepozers/. Download the music, buy the
CD!
~~When would you say you became a VH fan? What turned you on to VH? I
can tell you the exact moment. The first time I saw the Jump video on
MTV at a friend’s house. I saw Dave being... well... Dave and Ed
playing like a madman and smiling the whole time and I thought,
“that’s cool; that’s what I want to do!”
They made it look easy and fun. My brother is a drummer and he
was into Van Halen while I was listening to Duran Duran, The Police,
The Cars, etc. I was more of a Top-40 listener, music fan up until
that point. I saw that video and said “that’s what I gotta do.”
Then I saw a copy of the US Festival and I knew that was what I
had to do. Then I went and borrowed all my brother’s VH albums.
Oddly, my brother and I are both still musicians, but have never
played in a band together, ala Ed and Al, although we have jammed
occasionally.
~~What is your all-time fave VH album? Song? Video? Damn you!
That’s a tough one. 1984 for sentimental reasons. I & II were
obviously rock classics. But then again, there is stuff on WACF
& FW....damn you! 5150 is great too! I’ll go with VHI - fave
album. Fave song is Secrets from DD. No wait! And the Cradle Will
Rock..Sinner’s Swing?Dirty Movies? Err...Beautiful Girls?Drop Dead
Legs? Damn it! Video is definitely Panama. You know it’s odd. I
don’t really listen to VH on a regular basis much anymore, but I am
still just as enthralled by what is going on with them. I guess
that’s what brought me to the PD initially and why I am here now.
They had such an impact on shaping my early musical life and I just
like to keep up with them and hope they are all doing well.

my new fave is Pumpkin.
~~What was your favorite toy as a child? No doubt, all things Star
Wars.
~~Favorite board game? Scrabble
~~Favorite video game? It’s a Star Wars game that my nephew has on
Playstation or Nintendo or something. I don’t play much.
~~Favorite TV show? Seinfeld, still... without a doubt. Although The
Andy Griffith Show is a close 2nd. I don’t watch a lot of current
T.V. , unless it’s music or educational.
~~Favorite smells? My daughter. (after a bath...or before) Babies just
smell good. I like the smell of good food too. I also like the smell
that’s in the air when winter really sets in. You can actually smell
the cold.
~~Ever TP'd someone's house? No, but I've lived in a teepee!
~~Ever loved somebody so much it made you cry? Yes, and I would
suggest when this happens, take a break for a few hours or maybe look
into artificial lubrication.
~~Ever been in a car accident? My last car was an accident!
~~When was your last hospital visit? Last year, when my Dad had
a freak blood pressure migraine, on the same day he was going to the
hospital to see my brother’s first-born daughter. Seriously.
~~Ever convicted of a crime? Felony or misdemeanor? I got thrown
in the pokey for P.I. once.

Center
~~What do you do most often when you are bored? Write songs,
play guitar, surf the net.

give up all the really bad ones. lol. I'd have to say occasional nail
biting and obsessing over the little things.
~~ If you were another person, would you be friends with you? Oh
definitely. In fact, I would probably move off to New York and get a
swinging bachelor pad with my bad other self.
~~Are you a dare-devil? Is that a snack cake? Not anymore,
unless eating sushi is considered risk-taking.
~~Have you ever told a secret you swore to never tell? I'm sure
I did. I'm a human.
~~Have you ever misused a word and it sounded absolutely stupid?
Actually, even when I know I'm misusing a word, I have a way of making
it sound quite brilliant.
~~Do you think there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
If there is, I hope they have terry cloth toilet paper!
~~Are you trendy? Not if I can help it, but I'm also not dated and
lame.
~~How do you release anger? Usually by making life miserable for
everybody within a 100 mile radius of me. Or I get in my truck and
just drive and sing along at the top of my lungs to some really angry
rock music. But I really don't own, or like, any really angry rock
music, so that just tends to make me happy again.
~~Where is your second home? I don't know, but as soon as I find
it, I need to move a lot of crap from the first one.
~~Do you trust others easily? Why do you ask and who are you
anyway?
~~Do you use sarcasm a lot? Do people breathe oxygen?
~~Have you ever been in a mosh pit? Yes, and many people perished in
the wake of my wrath that day, I tell you.
~~Would you ever bungee jump? Been there, done that.
~~How many wisdom teeth do you have? All four of them. In an
ziplock bag. In my desk drawer. They make nice conversation pieces.
(Seriously, I still have them. lol.)
~~Are you in love with anyone? I never got the whole "love
/ in love" thing. If you're "in love", wouldn't that
mean that you "currently love someone." My family and
friends, of course, without a doubt.
~~What are you listening to right now? The sound of my wife and
daughter snoring softly, like little ladies do.
~~If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Periwinkle or
Burnt Sienna or Goldenrod or Mahogany or Magenta. Just because those
names sound like porn stars. But actually Gold was a cool color,
wasn’t it?
~~Last movie you watched?
Theater - X-men 2 (don’t get out much, do I)
DVD- Auto-Focus
T.V.- The Firm
~~Scary movies or happy endings? Scary Movies! Yes!

the Dragon
~~How much do you love your job on a scale of 1 to 10? Who really
loves to work when it comes right down to it, folks? I’d say it’s
about a 5. I gotta do it to pay the bills and I guess there are things
I could be doing that I would hate worse. But I’d rather be getting
paid enough making music to be able to survive.
~~What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the
morning? First- "Why God, why?”, Second- "I
can probably sleep for another 15 minutes."
